  • August 5, 2021

Facebook aims to make it easier for users to find various features and tools while using the app. Recently, the platform enabled emoji search on Messenger. To find Reels and Rooms, it placed them on top of the Stories panel. Today, Facebook redesigns its settings page. It aims to make navigation on settings simpler.

Facebook Settings Update

Facebook streamline the categories as the platform redesigns its settings page. It now houses only six categories with less text to declutter the main screen. These six categories are:

  • Account
  • Preferences
  • Audience and Visibility
  • Permissions
  • Your Information
  • Community Standards and Legal Policies

Facebook also makes some relocations of small categories stand-alone tabs. One example is the News Feed tab, which will now be under Preferences. Another example is the payment menu, which will now incorporate all payment tools. The “Privacy Settings” has also been removed, and its privacy elements relocated in different categories.

Facebook redesigns its settings page enabling a new search function for its features and tools. Users can now search them based on descriptive and specific names. Facebook also adds a “Privacy Checkup” shortcut on top of the settings page to guide users with important privacy and security settings.

Facebook redesigns its settings page on 04 August 2021.

Implications for Marketers:

Facebook redesigns its settings page by rearranging its features and tools to make it more user-friendly. For marketers, this may be a minor update. But it can also help them better navigate Facebook settings.
