YouTube Enables “Places Mentioned” on Videos

Here are new great tools from YouTube Studio! The largest video-sharing platform is adding some more channel management options. After allowing the reuse of data on previous uploads and search insights, YouTube enables “Places Mentioned” on videos.

With “Places Mentioned,” creators no longer need to manually input map links to add location information to their videos. “Places Mentioned” will automatically tag locations for food and drinks. The new feature intends to provide a seamless experience among creators. 

YouTube enables “Places Mentioned” on videos as of 10 December 2021. 

Implications for Marketers: 

YouTube’s “Places Mentioned” can be a great way for marketers to boost local SEO. By adding geotags on YouTube videos, it can increase the discovery and reach among YouTubers nearby.
