Remember Facebook Premieres?
Premieres are paid online events that allow film screening in over 100 countries. Last August 2021, Premieres featured the documentary film The Outsider at the 9/11 Museum in Manhattan. But it seems that many users prefer real-time video watching rather than online events. That is why Meta will remove “Premieres” by the 22nd of August, 2022.
Gerry McGuire, a digital manager, tweeted to Matt Navarra a print screen of the prompt he has received on Facebook. To quote, the prompt says:
“Premieres will be deprecated on Monday, August 22, 2022. You will not be able to use Premieres to schedule a video to debut after August 22, 2022. We recommend you use scheduled video posts for any pre-recorded content that you want to debut at a specific time.”
Meta will remove “Premieres” by the 22nd of August, 2022.Implications to Marketers:
The removal of Facebook Premieres may not have a major impact on marketers. It is just best to be aware that by the 22nd of August, they need to use regular video scheduling for upcoming broadcasts.
