Facebook is currently trying something new. The platform tests removing its list of Stories viewers. After making Stories comments as public and testing the green screen option, the update is something interesting.

Facebook Stories are 15-second momentary posts that disappear after 24 hours of posting. Through Stories, users can upload a photo or video. Users can also simply post a link, message, or status. Anyone who posted a Story will be able to see the list of people who viewed it. Currently, some Facebook users are receiving a notification that they can no longer see who viewed their Stories except if the viewer reacted to them. A tweet shared by Elodie Flenniau to Matt Navarra is asking for answers. Matt retweeted the question as Facebook has no official announcement yet.

Implications for Marketers:
As Facebook tests removing the list of Stories viewers can lessen insights of Stories’ reach. Marketers should keep watch for further updates as it may significantly affect their campaign analytics.
