Twitter Chat Window for DM Is Now Under Live Testing

Increased usage of direct messages is happening on Twitter these days. To align with it, the Twitter chat window is now under live testing. Twitter is testing the new format since 15 April 2020, as relayed by Jane Manchun Wong, a reverse engineering expert. Matt Navara, a social media consultant, shared a screenshot of such an update this 26 May 2020.

The new option displays a small window at the bottom of the screen. It’s visible to twitter users once there is an active DM chat. Users have the option to show or hide it. The update works like Facebook Messenger and LinkedIn Messaging. This Twitter chat window for DM on the desktop is only available to selected users. Twitter has no word yet on when it will be widely available.

Twitter chat window makes for DM it easier for users to engage in using direct messages. It gives them the power to keep a chat while checking tweets. For marketers, this can be an opportunity to ease content sharing via DM. As such, it can engage the audience to discuss products and services.
