Facebook Officially Launches Multi-Participant Live Streaming on IG

In celebration of International Women’s Day and Women’s Month, Facebook officially launches multi-participant live streaming on IG and several new features. Around mid-February, Instagram Chief, Adam Mosseri, announced that the platform is working 0n such a feature. He even demonstrated it during the video interview with Lily Singh.  Beginning the 1st of March, Instagram now allows multi-participant live streaming.

Instagrammers can now invite up to 3 friends during a live broadcast. The invited user will receive a drop-down notification. Once the user accepted the invitation, the live broadcast will be viewable to all the followers of the participant’s account. In Mosseri’s demo, the fun part is that each participant can use their own filters during the stream. 

Facebook also adds a new set of stickers to celebrate International Women’s Day and Women’s Month. It also published some new stats on women’s initiatives during the pandemic. Both Facebook and Instagram 商店 will be highlighting women-owned collections this month. Last, the platform launches a new category under the Community Help Dashboard. The tab “Create a Drive” can help individuals and non-profit organizations collect essential items via Facebook.
